Dear Charlotte,
C and I are coming home today. And to see you will make me happy in itself, but if you'd be hospitable with some lovely weather and a sweet memory or two to take back with us I'd be forever grateful. You always were one of the good ones. I'm sorry if I didn't appreciate you all the years I grew up with you. I know I was constantly clinging on to my birth right of being a "California Girl." And although I won't ever have [or allow myself to have] a Southern accent, it doesn't mean I'm not proud to be from the South! Also, as you know you're the most upscale Southern city there is so it's really not a question of if you have potential. After all, you are the Queen City. And to me you just get prettier with age.
